Rays Of Hope

I sit here alone,

Thinking....

Loud lights, blinding my eyes

Blinding noise, deafening my ears

Smoke, choking my lungs

Society, clouding my views

Pretentious fools, polluting my mind.

I still sit here alone,

Dreading....

...that one day I might lose it,

that one day I might lash out

But I know I'm better than that

'cause Patience is my virtue

And redemption will be my reward

I still sit here alone,

Hoping....

...that one day

The Redeemer comes along

'cause these heathens will never find redemption

Unless there's some kind of divine intervention

I still sit here alone,

Blinking....

I see the sun's rays

Creeping through the smoke

These are for me

But rays of hope

'cause the sun is still shining

The birds are still chirping

All is not done yet

'cause a few of us are still Thinking
